I created this line of wall
décor because I love rural –
love of past recollections of the finer things in life,
running in the field, playing
in the barn loft, imitating Mary Poppins in the pasture, or walking barefoot
in the newly fallen rain mud puddles.
My past experiences force me to
love such imagery.
Barns with their weathering
textures scream art.
Nullifying part of the original
image captures a statement I want to enhance.
This art form is not easy.
I first pull from my huge stock
of images ones that might give me proportions, more than one flat dimension.
A lean-to or addition on a
barn, or a roof that is worn with a lot of detail.
I carefully compose these
images with a lot of judicious thought.
Balancing the opus, weighing
the poise.
The final product has great
appeal to me; my hopes are, for the consumer also.
